$2020 won\'t last forever. Just like every other year that has come to pass, it too is fading like our go-to pair of jeans. But we don\'t like these pants—we\'ve only be wearing them because we have to. We wear them at home, to school, to work, to bed. We\'re wearing them everywhere, and they\'re wearing us out. There are one hundred days left in this year that has tested us, exposed us, broken us, and betrayed us in so many ways. Some days just getting our heads on a pillow each night is a measure of success. We made it another day. If we can do it ninety-nine more times, we\'ll earn the reward that must be waiting for us on January 1. Everything will be better on New Year\'s Day, simply because it\'s no longer 2020. That may be true, but it may also be a coping mechanism. Or, you could say it\'s a \"hoping mechanism\". A future to set our hopes on so that we aren\'t crushed under the weight of our present circumstances. In large part, that\'s exactly what hope is, and it\'s a real good thing! But hoping in the year to come is not a reason to sit this one out. With one hundred days left, we have a choice to make. Will we drag ourselves out of bed each morning and ask, \"Is 2020 over yet?\" Or will we wake up ninety-nine more times, put on our faded, tattered jeans and wear them with high expectations and a smile? We can hope that better things will happen in 2021 while still making things happen in the next one hundred days. Will you count them down or will you make them count?$
